It is with great enthusiasm that I run for a position on the Status of Women Committee. I have been involved in the FIQ’s activities since 2011 and am a nurse and grievance agent at the CIUSSS de la Capitale Nationale. I have considered myself a feminist activist for a very long time. I have been a regular at the

Women’s Networks since 2012, and feel that these gatherings are essential for women at the FIQ. It’s a time when they can and must reflect on what it means to be a woman today, as a worker, both here and around the world.

To me, being a feminist means being curious, watchful, and thinking critically and being suspicious of mainstream discourse. It also means learning from the past to better understand our present and determine our future. To me, feminism does not only mean equal rights, but true equality. I dream of a world in which everyone can freely take their own place in society regardless of who they are and where they are from.

I also advocate for feminine solidarity that goes beyond the borders of Quebec. From free zones in developing countries to the TSOs imposed on Quebec nurses, it is all the same systemic violence that is taking root in neoliberalism.

I would sincerely love to join the Status of Women Committee in order to fuel debates and influence its orientations.
