I was elected last December and would like to remain on the Status of Women Committee. I assimilated the concepts quickly and would like to continue promoting feminism.
My vision of feminism means recognizing each person’s value without discrimination and having equal rights for women and men. In this role, I would like to promote a better understanding of feminism to gain men’s support. I don’t think we will achieve equality until men understand that their privileges are not rights.
I believe that every person should earn their position based on their skills. However, women are still underestimated and have to prove themselves to earn respect, whereas men automatically have respect. Women also still often lack initiative and confidence when it comes to taking their rightful place.
I believe that education is the key to achieving equality.
