Lyne Plante
VP Organization of Work and Professional Practice, Legal Team (FIQ)
CISSS de l'Outaouais (FIQ – Syndicat des professionnelles en soins de l’Outaouais)
Today, I am running for the position of Vice-President, Organization of Work and Professional Practice, Legal Team on the FIQ Executive Committee.
My experience in the organization of work files on the upgrading of positions and my involvement in the committees on care with the revision of healthcare professionals’ tasks and their workload has enabled me to make progress in the files on safe care ratios.
Moreover, I participated in the provincial negotiations in 2003 on the integration of licensed practical nurses into class 1. I am the TRAC regional spokesperson and I made a major contribution to the recognition of the special status for the healthcare professionals in Outaouais. I sat on the Commission Infirmière Régionale from 2003 to 2015. All of that will help me to properly represent you.
As for my union career, I am currently president of the FIQ-SPSO which represents more than 2,800 nurse, licensed practical nurse, respiratory therapist and specialty nurse practitioner members in Outaouais. I was president of the SPSICR-FIQ of the CSSS de Gatineau from 2011-2017. I was also elected to different union positions in the past.
My social involvement with community organizations and as the FIQ-SPSO leader and TRAC spokesperson enables me to understand today’s social reality.
As for my professional path, I have worked in mental health, neurosurgery, medicine, surgery, RNI (non-institutional resources) and I currently hold a position in a CHSLD.
Lastly, I will invest 150% in my files and my perfectionist side will be a positive influence on the FIQ Executive Committee.
I pledge to actively work on the healthcare professional-to-patient ratios, Letter of Understanding No. 18 for the SNPs and Letter of Understanding No. 6 to support FIQ union teams. All of that without forgetting the advocacy training, Safe Staffing Form and of course, the Legal Team’s files which are also important, as well as the representation of members before the professional orders, TAT, arbitrations and many more.
I am voting for Lyne Plante at the Convention for the Organization of Work and Professional Practice, Legal Team position on the FIQ Executive Committee, for her experience, professional career, honesty and transparency.
