Marie-Claude Ouellet [Elected by acclamation]
Secretary (FIQ)
CISSS de la Montérégie-Est (FIQ – Syndicat des professionnelles en soins de Montérégie-Est)
It is with stronger motivation than ever before and the enthusiasm of my first days on the job that I run for my third term as Secretary on the Executive Committee of the FIQ.
Strong in my beliefs and fuelled by your support, I put my all into my mandates and there is no doubt that union life is central to who I am, not only as a healthcare professional, but also as a woman and citizen.
As someone who has witnessed the evolution of the organization firsthand over the last six years, it is with pride that I reflect on the challenges we successfully overcame. But we still have much to do to achieve our ultimate goal of having a new labour organization in health care. We made the first step by successfully setting up the new FIQ, FIQP and RFIQ structures. Now, the major challenge is to help them grow to their full potential. Organizing the new decision-making meetings, following-up with the 2016-2020 strategic planning and recommendations from the last conventions, as well as mobilizing the members of the Youth Committee around a sustainable development policy at the FIQ are all exciting projects that I can skillfully handle.
I would like to mention that youth involvement in union life at all levels of the organization is particularly important to me. They are the next generation and my mission is to spark their activism so that in the coming years, youth committees will have an impact in all institutions throughout Quebec. My energy and ability to bring people together continue to be essential for overseeing the Youth Committee.
I know that I possess the drive and rigour to represent healthcare professionals as the Secretary of the FIQ’s Executive Committee.
I believe that the expertise and experience I have gained over the years qualifies me to continue this work. And I feel it would be wise to ensure continuity for the FIQ so that it stays the course during this major shift. To that end, I am ready to make every effort to complete these major projects.
I will continue to represent you with determination and assure you that you won’t regret placing your trust in me.
IT IS FILLED WITH HOPE THAT I SAY “THANK YOU!”
