My name is Sonia Mancier, Licensed Practical Nurse and Interim President of the UHCP since April 2017. I am running for the position of President of the FIQP.
First, I want to tell you about 10 years of unionism during which I have learned about our federation, the FIQ.

My union experience began at the end of 2008 as a local representative for the CHSLD Vigi Montérégie and member of the UHCP Election Committee. In 2009, I was elected as the regional info-support representative for the Montérégie region, by the side of Marie-Claude Ouellet. The fact of having to defend our positions for better working conditions to many elected officials opened my eyes to the need for getting involved in the union at several levels.

In 2011, I joined the UHCP Board of Directors as the representative for the licensed practical nurses sector. I actively worked on the FIQ Special Report, Licensed Practical Nurse. That same year, I was also elected as a member of the FIQ Union Defence Fund Committee, a position I have held for almost 6 years.
In 2012, I obtained the position of secretary on the UHCP executive committee, a position I held until my election to the position of second vice-president of the UHCP in 2013. I am responsible for the communication and labour relations component for the private and private subsidized CHSLD mission.

In 2016, the FIQ Executive asked me to represent the EPCs on the strategic planning committee. That same year, elected as a member of the provisional executive committee of the FIQP, I am participating in the founding of this new federation.
My goal is that the working conditions are respected and improved in all of our private and private, subsidized institutions and, that it open the door to new members who want to join us.
I am proposing to achieve this objective at your side and become your official spokesperson. As President of the FIQP, I agree to hold this position with dedication and integrity. I will not be remiss in my obligations. Most of you know me and know just how stubborn and dedicated I can be to a cause when it is justified.
