Recommendation to set up an OWPP network RFIQ-D13
Recommendation
Whereas at the December 2016 Federal Council, the delegates adopted “to evaluate the possibility of setting up a Task and Organization of Work Network and evaluate the impact on the financial forecasts for 2017” by a majority vote;
Whereas the importance that the FIQ gives to organization of work and professional practice, in particular concerning the work project on safe healthcare professional-to-patient ratios;
Whereas the need expressed by the union representatives who want to be better equipped in organization of work and professional practice (OWPP) to intervene at the local level;
Whereas the organization of work and professional practice component is included in the offer of service and the consultants involved will be asked to participate in it;
Whereas the necessity to mobilize our union reps and members on the issues related to organization of work and professional practice and the desire to see it have a position of strength;
Whereas the local officers in charge of organization of work and professional practice do not have a place to express themselves, be informed on the OWPP issues and collectively discuss their concerns;
The Executive Committee recommends:
“That two OWPP Networks be held as pilot projects before the next Convention in 2021. Holding them will be based on the organization’s priorities and on the most appropriate dates;
That after these two Networks the OWPP Sector will analyze the participation of the local officers in organization of work and professional practice in this activity and its impact on the exchange of information and knowledge linked to OWPP issues;
That this evaluation be shared with the delegation at the 2021 Convention to determine the pertinence of making the Network permanent;
That the composition of the OWPP Network be based on that of the existing Networks.”
