Covering the membership cost for healthcare professionals’ professional order or association this year would be a good start. 

The changes the Federations are demanding to repair the health system focus on two key proposals: reinvesting in health care to strengthen the public network and prioritizing the attraction and retention of healthcare professionals in the public health network. 

Continuing its series of visibility actions to illustrate the consequences of the CISSS-AT’s inaction and the government’s complacency over the healthcare professional workforce situation in the region, the Syndicat FIQ-SISSAT and its members stopped outside of the site of the future cancer centre in Rouyn-Noranda. 

The Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS) finally issued a directive on wearing N95 masks in hot zones nearly eleven months after the Fédération interprofessionnelle de la santé du Québec – FIQ and FIQ | Secteur privé demanded it for their members. 

The pandemic caused by COVID-19 has shown the need to act for lasting equality. During this historic time, we are demanding “Let’s listen to women” and be part of this long-awaited change. The theme, Let’s listen to women aims to illustrate the following observation: women want concrete measures to tackle the poverty and violence they suffer to significantly improve their living and working conditions.
