The Fédération interprofessionnelle de la santé du Québec–FIQ joined in Montreal’s pride parade celebrations once again. For the FIQ, it was the perfect occasion to highlight the importance of fighting against discrimination based on sexual orientation.

“In Quebec, we have come a long way in our effort to eradicate discrimination and injustice towards the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community. However, these gains and progress remain fragile. People in the LGBTQ community still face prejudice and suffer discrimination. That is why we make a point of participating in the parade,” said FIQ President Régine Laurent.

Régine Laurent was accompanied by healthcare professionals, FIQ members and other Executive Committee members, including Daniel Gilbert, Linda Bouchard and Roberto Bomba.
