The FIQ attended the annual general assembly of the Regroupement interprofessionnel des retraités des services de santé (RIIRS)
The annual general assembly of the Regroupement interprofessionnel des retraités des services de santé (RIIRS) was held in Bromont from September 26 to 27, and, like every year, the FIQ was in attendance. This year Régine Laurent, Nancy Bédard and Linda Lapointe represented the organization. At the general assembly, the current president and former FIQ presidents Diane Lavallée and Jenny Skeene gave conferences on the history of the RIIRS. Régine Laurent also shared the FIQ’s vision of seniors’ care. In her talk, she spoke in particular of the small homes for seniors project developed by the FIQ.
Next, people took the time to honour the RIIRS 25th anniversary. Régine Laurent reminded everyone that the RIIRS helped build strong intergenerational solidarity between the health network’s staff and the retirees.
The RIIRS actions and mission have evolved considerably over the last 25 years and grown even more important. Everyone continues to see and feel the benefits of the RIIRS’ efforts.
