This year’s International Workers’ Day, with the theme Prendre le parti des travailleurs et travailleuses (siding with workers), brought thousands of demonstrators out into the streets of Montreal today to speak up on behalf of workers and voice their demands. They want to see a reinvestment in public services and social programs and the implementation of concrete measures to put an end to excessive workloads, promote work-family-study balance, increase minimum wage to $15/hour, crack down on tax havens and transition toward sustainable development.
