Departure of Carolle Dubé as APTS president – The FIQ commends her commitment and dedication to the union world
The Fédération interprofessionnelle de la santé du Québec – FIQ wants to point out the tremendous work by Carolle Dubé who is leaving the presidency of the Alliance du personnel professionnel et technique de la santé et des services sociaux (APTS) for a well-deserved retirement.
“After nearly 30 years of activism, we are losing a major ally of the union world. Carolle was known and recognized for her leadership and sincere commitment in defending her organization’s members. Her power of conviction, integrity and unwavering dedication to defending a universal and accessible public healthcare system will be greatly missed. Our collaborations, in particular that of our historic APTS-FIQ alliance for the current negotiations with the Québec government, allowed us to know a woman of heart driven by equity and social justice values”, pointed out Nancy Bédard, President of the FIQ.
The Federation is taking this opportunity to congratulate the newly elected provincial executive, including Andrée Poirier, the new APTS president. “We are offering our full collaboration to this new provincial executive in waging our common struggles, including the one uniting the 131,000 FIQ and APTS members for the renewal of their collective agreement”, concluded Ms. Bédard.
