The FIQ commends the healthcare professionals’ outstanding work and determination in the fight against COVID-19
Today, the Fédération interprofessionnelle de la santé du Québec–FIQ is launching Healthcare Professional Month. This month, celebrated every year by the Federation in May, highlights four important days, Licensed Practical Nurse’s Day on May 5, Nurse’s Day on May 12, Respiratory Therapist’s Day on May 19 and Clinical Perfusionist’s Day on May 26.
These days are to acknowledge the key role and unique expertise of these healthcare professionals in the healthcare network. They are currently at the heart of the fight against COVID-19. In a video posted on social media, the president of the FIQ, Nancy Bédard, addresses them to thank them for being on the front lines to give safe care to the population of Québec. “Your skills and expertise are needed more than ever during this pandemic,” she tells them.
The FIQ wants to point out all the outstanding work that the healthcare professionals do and which is being put to the test today in the context of COVID-19. “I commend their strength, courage and determination in caring for and protecting their patients, and saving lives,” says Ms. Bédard, who states she is proud to be their president and represent them.
