Can healthcare professionals who work in hot zones be assigned to cold zones?
If we believe the government, NO!
The Minister of Health and Social Services, Danielle McCann, has repeatedly said that the healthcare professionals would not be reassigned from a hot zone to a cold zone and vice-versa. According to her, the CISSS and CIUSSS administrators have received instructions not to use this practice.

Almost every day the FIQ receives testimonials from healthcare professionals who state they are forced to work in a cold zone after being in a hot zone, some of which come from CHSLDs. Most of the time, these healthcare professionals are not entitled to refuse the reassignment; they find themselves obliged to accept everything knowing they are putting the safety of their colleagues and patients at risk.
Regardless of what the minister says, the healthcare professionals are regularly reassigned from a cold zone to a hot zone and vice-versa.
