The FIQ calls on the Provincial Public Health Director, INSPQ and CNESST for better protection in the event of a 2nd wave of COVID-19
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the FIQ and other labour organizations have expressed a lot of dissatisfaction about the measures adopted to ensure the health and safety of network personnel. In anticipation of an eventual 2nd wave of COVID-19, letters were sent to denounce the major shortcomings and demand better protection measures:
- To the Provincial Public Health Director, Mr. Arruda, we demanded to ensure the strengthening of protection measures and application of the precautionary principle;
- To the PED of the INSPQ, we reminded him of his Institute’s role, we denounced the frequent changes in the recommendations and numerous contradictions as a result;
- To the president of the board of directors and chief executive officer of the CNESST, we pointed out the flagrant lack of leadership by his organization during the crisis and failure to carry out its mission by submitting to the recommendations of the INSPQ.
