The FIQ president’s statement in response to Dubé’s Plan
The president of the FIQ’s statement in response to Dubé’s Plan:
“In the government’s plan announced today, we did not hear firm commitments to targets on the most important aspects of bringing healthcare professionals back, such as ending mandatory overtime and improving work-family balance.
While very significant financial incentives and an additional 3,000 administrative resources were announced, will they be enough to turn things around? The priority should have been the government’s commitments on working conditions.
Starting today, the true test for this plan will be in the field. Our members will have to see the change in culture over the next few days. The government has an obligation to produce real results, to show concrete improvements to healthcare professionals’ working conditions.
We will work toward this and will be there to ensure the changes take place as quickly as possible.”
Nancy Bédard, FIQ President
