News from the bargaining table

News from the bargaining table

At the last negotiation meetings (March 27, March 30 and April 6), the employer party specified and clarified some of its offers. So we have a slightly clearer picture of where the employer wants to go, although there are still issues that we will bring to them in future meetings.

The government is now publicly claiming they want to conclude an agreement quickly, maybe even before the summer. This timetable is somewhat ambitious considering that to date, only the employer offers have been addressed. Moreover, the recent clarifications of their offers are a strategy to try to keep the discussion going around them.

FIQ members called upon

When the Negotiating Committee returns to the table they will make sure that the healthcare professionals’ priorities are at the heart of the debates at the table: salary, personal life-work balance and workload. To succeed, we will need you.

Your union representatives were informed on April 13 of the progress in the negotiations, and in light of this, the Negotiating Committee believes that it would be wise to proceed with a new consultation of the FIQ members in May. This consultation will be in the same form as the one held last September and which led to the adoption of our priorities.

Continue following us on our different platforms for more information. We want to hear from you! These are your negotiations!

Good news: the end of the discussion forums

At the end of March, the government confirmed its intention to not move forward with its project on discussion forums – parallel tables to the bargaining table and in which the labour organizations decided not to participate. We welcome this retreat by the government, which is excellent news for healthcare professionals and for the continuation of the negotiations.
