Given the meagre progress at the bargaining table and the need to quickly give healthcare professionals better working and salary conditions, the Fédération interprofessionnelle de la santé du Québec–FIQ is asking the Quebec government for mediation.

Psychosocial risks in the workplace rank among those that affect healthcare professionals the most. Work overload, low recognition, mandatory overtime, violence and subjection to employer whims are unfortunately things they have to deal with on a daily basis.

This crucial step involves assessing over 300 job categories in the parapublic sector, including healthcare professionals’ jobs.

The Health Minister has been very busy with Bill 15 and negotiating an agreement with medical specialists to catch up on surgeries. However, during this time, it’s been radio silence for healthcare professionals who will have to handle the challenges that come with summer.
