Status of Women Sector survey
The first action plan of the Policy on the Fair Representation of Women in Positions of Power and Decision-Making included several actions with the objective of supporting the participation of women in places of power.
To attain this objective, three (3) training sessions were deployed to equip the union reps in relation to different skills that enable them to exercise their leadership:
- A training on adding your voice at decision-making bodies targeting a reflection on the various obstacles for the union reps and to familiarize them with the various tools supporting adding your voice;
- A second training on the different steps in the electoral process for members and union reps interested in getting involved at different levels of the organization;
- A mentorship program (will be available soon) which consists of encouraging and supporting new union reps using a buddy system with more experienced union reps.
The 2021-2025 action plan of the Policy Implementation and Monitoring Committee (CIVP) includes improving the training given to the union reps. A new training session will be set up to support women in their participation in union life. To better identify your current training needs, the Status of Women Sector invites you to complete this survey. Your answers will guide the CIVP and sector’s work in this direction.
