Wake up! The earth is in crisis: CODE BLUE
The environment was the main focus of the 14th edition of the FIQ’s Youth Network held on November 2 and 3. Over 70 participants reviewed the important connections between health, collective action and the environment. While the Network held in spring 2017 was an opportunity for young healthcare professionals to observe how environmental factors impact their patients’ health, November’s Network sent the message that it’s time to take action.
Sustainable development is a hot topic and will need to be addressed in the years to come. Consequently, the Youth Network members wanted to help implement a sustainable development policy at the Federation. Through panels, presentations, a practical workshop and round table discussions, the youth came up with tactics to develop a promising strategy.
“You’ve inspired us with your ideas, creativity and enthusiasm. The wonderful energy you’ve generated over the last two days will get us off to a great start!” said Marie-Claude Ouellet, Political Officer for the Youth Committee, in her closing message.
With just a few weeks to go before her well-deserved retirement, FIQ President Régine Laurent attended the first day of the November edition of the Youth Network, giving it that extra special something.
