Frequent questions
How can I become a member in good standing?
Only members in good standing can vote. If you are not sure you are, you must contact your FIQ union team in order to fill in an electronic member card and hence obtain the right to vote. Have your employee number and a valid email address ready.
What do I do if I have still not received the email with my unique access code for voting?
First, check your spam emails. It’s possible that the email with your login details is there. If this is not the case, you must contact your FIQ union team. Have your employee number and email address ready. Once your identity is confirmed, you will receive an email with your unique access code for the democratic platform.
I lost/deleted my email with my unique access code
Contact a representative from your FIQ union team. Have your employee number and email address ready and your FIQ union representative can send you the information by email.
What happens if the agreement is rejected by the members?
In the event the tentative agreement is rejected, the Negotiating Committee will have to return to the bargaining table and resume discussions with the government. This would then be the start of new pressure tactics.
The 2021-2023 collective agreement will continue to apply during this time.
When will the new collective agreement go into effect?
Once the tentative agreement is adopted by the members, there will be discussions with the government in order to write the texts of the new collective agreement. This will take several weeks.

The new collective agreement will go into effect on a date determined by the parties once the final texts are written. The salary increases will go into effect retroactively to April 1, 2023.
The conditions and deadlines for pay the retroactivity are not known at this time. That will be a future discussion.
